How do you replace belt on craftsman high wheel trimmer?

It really goes pretty quickly all you need is a pliers to pull the pins that connect the mower deck to the tractor out. Start at the front and remove the 2 pins on on either side that hold the bars to the front of the mower deck. Then disconnect the cable at the rear of the mower deck from the cable stop. Disconnect the rear arms same as the front. There might be 2 more depending on the exact model up near the front tires. You should now be able to slide the mower deck out from under the tractor. Now you can see where the belt goes. Put the belt on the front(engine) pulley. working toward the back it will go around one stationary idler pulley and one tensioning idler pulley roughly opposite the stationary one and around the drive pulley, you might find its easiest to do the tensioning idler last. Reinstall the mower deck and voila. First time I did it took me about 25 min. mostly just locating all the pins to remove.

there are 2 bars on each side of the mower.They are located next to the control arms(the elbow shaped bars that move the wheels as you turn the steering wheel) On each bar there are 2 metal retainer clips that are located on the ends of each bar. pop those clips out. remove the 2 bars. On top of the blade housing closer to the engine or main pulley there is one more clip on each side. They are connected to the adjustment bar(the bar that raises and lowers the blade housing) Do some searching and you should find them relatively quick. BIG HINT they are just like the other 4 clips except they are Black. If you cannot find them, have someone sit on the mower and pull the blade height lever up and down. The moving bars underneath each hold a black clip. once you have removed the clip on each side manually pull the blade housing on each side towards the front wheels. You will the notice that the belt is now loose enough to simply remove off of the motor pulley. WIth the other pulleys, there is a little flat bar retainer that is spring loaded. Pull each down and take and remove the belt. Installation of the new belt is the reverse.

The LT1000 is a mower made my Craftsman with large cutting blades. In order to replace the blade belts one must first take off the blades and then paying attention to how the belt that needs replaced was put on, carefully take it off and replace it with a new belt. Then one must put the blades back on and make sure they are full of debris.
