How long do you have to stay in school to be a game maker?

I am going games for my book series Little Kingdom Builder, and so far, it takes me anywhere from 4 hours to a 2 weeks to create a game using Adobe flash. The key for me is to write the code once and then use it again as many times as I can but in different games.

It depends what you want to do. Believe me, I encourage you go to college, but if you want to just make games for a phone or a tablet or something of the like, then you probably don't need to go to college, unless you want to learn about programming. On the other hand, if you want to work at a company, such as Nintendo, Sega, Sony, Microsoft, or somewhere else, you definitely are going to want to go to college for quite a while. If you just want to make little games right now, you can, with a program called Game Maker. You can use it for free, but there will be some restrictions on some things you can do with it, which can be solved by paying for the full version.
