There are no solid studies that have been done that can calculate how many female models out currently out there today.

It's difficult to compile this data because of the various factors that would qualify someone as a "model." But because this is a popular profession that is found around the world, it is safe to say that there are likely thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of female models out there.

One way to get an idea is to count the number of female models on the rosters of modeling agency websites in any given state, region or country but of course that would be very time consuming.
