several answers above are incorrect.

from the explanations, you need to take whatever the guage is and invert it....

comparing 10 guage to 9.....1/10 is thinner than 1/9. 1/30 is thinner than 1/15 etc.

Shame on the responses that get it wrong.

Is 16 gauge steel bigger than 14 gauge steel?

GAUGE , is one inch thick of steel or metal. So, take this one inch thick of steel sheet and cut it into 12 equal thickness sheets , you get a 12 gauge steel sheet. Similarly, take this one inch thick of steel sheet and cut it into 14 equal thickness sheets , you get a 14 gauge steel sheet. and so on . So, a 12 gauge steel sheet is thicker than 14 gauge , 14 is thicker than 16 , 16 is thicker than 18 and so on. Wrong!!! See my discussion on this...

What does the gauge of the needle mean?

The gauge of a needle refers to its thickness, with a higher gauge number indicating a thinner needle and a lower gauge number indicating a thicker one. For example, a 21-gauge needle is thicker than a 25-gauge needle. The choice of needle gauge can affect the ease of injection, the type of medication being administered, and the patient's comfort. In general, thinner needles are often used for subcutaneous injections, while thicker needles are used for intramuscular injections.

What is better 24 gauge steel garage door or 25 gauge steel garage door?

The lower the gauge number, the thicker the steel.

What is better - 24 gauge steel garage door or 25 gauge steel garage door?

The lower the gauge number, the thicker the steel.

What is thicker 25 mm or 45 mm?

45 mm is thicker than 25 mm

What gauge needle for 200 lb man?

For a 200 lb man, a common needle gauge for intramuscular injections is 22 to 25 gauge, depending on the viscosity of the medication being administered. A 22 gauge needle is typically used for thicker substances, while a 25 gauge is suitable for thinner solutions. For subcutaneous injections, a 25 to 27 gauge needle is generally appropriate. Always consider the specific medication and injection site when selecting the needle gauge.

Is a 25 gauge smaller than a 22?

UK wire gauge - the higher the number the thinner the wire. So 25 would be thinner than 22.

Is a 25 gauge smaller than a 22 gauge needle?

Yes it is smaller in terms of diameter. Explanation: 25 gauge refers to a needle having an inner diameter of 1/25" (1/25 inches) and 22 gauge refers to a needle having an inner diameter of 1/22" (1/22 inches). Thus the 25 gauge needle has a smaller inner diameter than a 22 gauge needle.

Is a 23 or 25 gauge needle smaller?

A 25-gauge needle is smaller in diameter than a 23-gauge needle. The larger the gauge number, the thinner the needle, so a 25-gauge needle has a smaller lumen compared to a 23-gauge needle. This means that for tasks requiring finer needles, such as pediatric or cosmetic procedures, a 25-gauge needle would be preferred.

What is the relationship between gauge number and its relevant thickness?

What is "it"?What is it? Wire? Sheet metal? What?PolytheneIn the case of polythene, gauge can be converted to thickness by dividing by four to get the thickness in micron or dividing by 4000 to get the thickness in mm. Here are some common examples:100 gauge = 25 micron = 0.025mm 120 gauge = 30 micron = 0.03mm 200 gauge = 50 micron = 0.05mm 250 gauge = 62.5 micron = 0.0625mm 400 gauge = 100 micron = 0.1mm
