That's true, could also be your chain too. If you sharpen your chain by hand, there is a good chance that they are not sharpened evenly...(left versus right cutters). If one side is bigger it will also cause the saw to cut crooked. Best thing is to only sharpen it once by hand, just to maintain the edge. Then have it sharpened by someone who has a chain grinder. Hand sharpening should only be a quick maintainer when you're "out" cutting...a grinder does it evenly and you should get three or four grinds per chain before its shot. **make sure to tell the person with the grinder you need your rakers ground too..(depth gauges)
