The Apache Indians lived in shelters called wickiups made mostly by women. They are dome shaped brush huts made out of wood and animal hide.
The Yokuts tribe of Native Americans lived in dome-shaped houses known as "tule huts." These huts were made from tule reeds woven together and covered with grasses or brush. They provided shelter and protection from the elements for the Yokuts people.
