  • The average cost is $10,000.00. This is kind of a guideline in real estate, that the addition of another bedroom or den will raise the market value of your home another $10,000.00 to cover costs and prevent you from losing money, should you have to sell the home in the near future.
  • There are a lot of factors. such as are you doing the work or is someone else? How big is it? What are you putting into it? I'm in the process of putting a 2nd floor Master bedroom addition that I am doing myself. It is 22x33. I will have a gas fireplace and a large bathroom. I expect to be about $20,000-$23,000 total. Most of the materials are into it, but have a ways to go yet.
  • My husband could do the work himself but he is too busy with working 50+ hours a week.....so, we have to hire it out. That's why I was curious because so far we only have one quote and it seems high, but maybe not? We want to add on a 15 x 20 room to the back of our ranch.....it will be like an all season room, only stick built....tons of windows. We have an existing fireplace that we would be able to eventually knock out the wall in one spot and put in a 2-sided one - but now now. Their quote is $33,000......the deck would be knocked out and the room put on a cement block ? foundation.....so I'm real curious if they're in the ballpark!!! Thanks again for any opinions!! We have 2 more companies coming out this week.
  • I own a construction company, and depending upon what "extras" you are wanting to add, I can usually do a room for an average of $65 to $75 per foot. Now, keep in mind there are a lot of factors in determining this. Slab or wood floor. Brick or other. City or country. Also, take into consideration what part of the country you are in. I wouldn't say I'm the cheapest buy I'm certainly not looking to retire off of your project.
  • As house sizes are not similar, it is more helpfull talking about square foot costs. There are around $250 for kitchen additions and $150 for simple room additions. More details on the website getproquotes.com
