Many designers sketch the designs and make the original, but don't actually handmake all of the clothing for mass-production. I suggest finding a company that you often buy clothes from, whether a specific designer or a general brand (i.e. Coco Chanel) / store (i.e. Forever 21), and looking into the matter. With some clothing, like acid-washed jeans, the tag will read who makes the clothing.
