The circular saw is one of the most important and efficient power tools on the job site. In this article we will apply the circular saw (“Skil”, “sidewinder”, “worm-drive”) to the purpose of ripping planks.
Begin with safety
Regardless of the involved power tool, safety comes first in every task. Understand the risks of using your tool. Know how to protect yourself and others. As to the circular saw, here are some fundamental safety pointers:
1.Check your saw for any loose parts and/or a damaged power cord. Use a sharp cutting blade;
2.Wear eye protection;
3.Limit the maximum blade extension to 1/8” beyond the thickness of the board to be cut;
4.Make certain that drop material can fall away from the saw;
5.Never change blades without unplugging or removing the saw’s power source;
6.Stay focused on what is being cut.
Ripping The Board
Ripping is accomplished in one of two manners: make a line and follow it, or use some form of rip guide (a finger, pliers, rip fence, or clamped boards). The actual ripping process is rather straightforward:
1.Measure and mark each end of the board;
2.Apply a chalk line or a straight edge to mark a line down the length of the board;
3.Rip the first eight to ten inches of the line by eye;
4.Release the trigger;
5.Let the blade come to a full stop;
6.Check for and remove any splinters from the left edge of the board;
7.Assuming now that you have no other guild mechanism, use your left thumb and index finger to grasp the front of the stock just were it overhangs the board;
8.Keep a tight grip so that your fingers press against the edge of the board firmly enough to create an effective saw guide;
9.Make certain that you do not permit the unused fingers of your left hand to rest beneath the target board;
10.Using the pressure against your left hand as a control factor, and the line of sight to the marked line as a checkpoint, finish the cut.
No, a circular saw is held in one hand. A table saw is set in a metal table or deck.
turn it on
A plasterer's hawk is a tool. It is a square board ( about 9 inches ) with a perpendicular handle. It is held horizontally in one hand while the other hand lifts the plaster off of the board with a float.
Caveman I think.
Wave soldering is a process where components are held in place and the entire board is soldered at once.
immediate danger
The circular building that gladitorial contests were held in is called the Coliseum.
This is called a Flat Top Comb.
You mean ball tied to a string and the string is held by the fingers or hand? Then that force is named as centripetal force. ie centre seeking force.
hand held computers
She held the ring in her hand and suddenly became invisible!
A right-hand bow is held in the right hand. This means that the archer draws the string back with their right hand while using their left hand to grip the bow and steady it. This setup is designed to optimize the archer's form and accuracy.
