Cars are much safer than motorbikes. With a car you're strapped in, protected by crumble zones, air bag and basically a roll cage. Anything bad happens, you have all those features to take the hit before you do.

On top of that, the car is stable in itself. Getting a car to tip over takes some doing.

On a motorbike, basically all you have between you and the unforgiving world is a helmet and some abrasion resistant clothing. And it requires rider input to keep it upright.

It gets particularly bad and unfair when there's a car/motorbike collision. The same force that'll require a car to have a fender or door panel replaced will bump a bike rider right off the road.

So even if you're an ever so careful bike rider who's doing everything right, you're still really vulnerable to any mistake a car driver might do to you.
