Maybe side-stand switch faulty... Disconnect plug (usually about 10" up the wire from the stand) and use a wire between contacts to bypass the switch and then try engaging gear whilst running. Don't start bike whilst on stand and in gear because, with the cut-out switch bypassed, it may well shoot forwards and roll off the stand...
I am assuming you mean the Suzuki GSXR600 motorcycle. ANY motorcycle whose engine dies when you engage first gear MOST PROBABLY has a CLUTCH problem. Have the clutch tightened. To check whether the clutch is CLEARING the gear, do the following: 1. With the engine turned off, hold the clutch and put the motorcycle in first gear. 2. While holding the clutch, push the motorbike forward. If the rear tire allows the motorcycle to move forward, the clutch is engaging properly and clearing the gear. If the motorcycle won't budge with the clutch engaged, the clutch is not engaging properly. If the clutch has been tightened and is too hard to engage, you might want to have a mechanic open the motorcycle and check the clutch discs- they might be worn out.
run gear oil in your engine if your cheap cause a 20r engine remanufactured cost 600 dollars. or you could completey take the motor apart and replace the rings.
there are 4 gears
The Yamaha YZF-R6 (often referred to as the Yamaha 600) may stall when put into gear due to several potential issues. Common reasons include a faulty kickstand switch, which prevents the motorcycle from running if the stand is down, or problems with the clutch not fully engaging or disengaging. Additionally, issues with the fuel supply, such as a clogged filter or injector, or a weak battery could contribute to stalling when shifting into gear. It's important to diagnose the specific cause to resolve the issue effectively.
On a Polaris RMK 600 snowmobile, reverse is typically engaged via a lever or switch located on the handlebars. When activated, the reverse system uses the engine's power to drive the track in the opposite direction. This is achieved through a dedicated reverse gear mechanism or an electric starter that temporarily alters the direction of the drive belt. It's important to ensure the snowmobile is at a complete stop before engaging reverse to prevent damage to the drivetrain.
diesel
i am not sure of the 2003 gsxr 600. but i have an 07' gsxr and i had mine to 171 on the highway in 6th gear.
The first thing you have to check is your base/curb idle. It should be between 600 and 700 rpm in nuetral. If less than 550 rpm, may be too low to sustain idle speed in gear. Computer diagnostic may be required to determine if idle circut problem exists. If no idle circut problem exists, check for transmission torque converter lock-up problem. If converter in full lock-up engine stall will occur when put into gear. Transmission diagnostic will be required to determine this problem.
4,400 rpm
Nearly 600 Australian servicemen died in the war.
About 0.63 quarts or 600 ml of gear oil. I would use SAE 80 W gear oil.
Try putting up the kickstand
