Depends on the type if its any type of gas engine there should be a primer button push that 2-3 times then there should be a bar to hold down once its securely held down grab the pull start with a firm grip and pull until it feels tight then pull it rapidly towards you if it does not start then try pushing the primer button 1-2 more times then try again. If its electric there should be a start button somewhere otherwise consult the manufacturer or the manual
