Removing the battery is quite a palava. Start by removing the rider's seat (the passenger part of the seat can stay put) and then remove all the bits that look as if they are in the way of removing the battery because they are. Not sure how old your question is so I won't go into further detail unless you ask for it. It's not like the old days when you undid a panel and pulled the battery out. Then again, the bike's these days are cleaner, quicker and less leaky. Good luck!
