Remove the allen-head bolts holding the speedo cover on, underneath that you'll find the larger bolts that give access to the handlebar clamps. MAKE SURE THAT YOU HOLD ON TO THE HANDLEBAR WHEN YOU LOOSEN THE CLAMPS! Otherwise the bars will fall and you will dent your tank. I would recommend putting a folded towel on the tank to protect it, just in case.

The spark plugs are positioned on the cylinder heads, with two plugs for the V-twin engine, one for each cylinder. It's important to follow the manufacturer's guidelines for proper access and replacement.

To lock the steering on a Yamaha V-Star 650 Classic, turn the handlebars fully to the left or right, then locate the ignition switch. While holding the handlebars in that position, turn the ignition key to the "lock" position and remove the key. This will engage the steering lock, preventing the handlebars from turning, and help deter theft.
On a 2007 Yamaha V Star 1300, the oil sight glass is located on the right side of the engine, near the oil filter. It is a small, transparent window that allows you to check the oil level without removing the dipstick. Ensure the motorcycle is on a level surface and check the oil level when the engine is cold for the most accurate reading.
