For the most accurate measurement, place the bike in upright position, don't let it rest on the side stand. Unscrew the dipstick and wipe all oil of it, especially make sure there is no oil trace on the flat section. Then, put it in again and screw tight. Unscrew and look at the flat section. If the oil does not reach that part of the dipstick, then you must add oil as soon as you can and don't start the engine until more oil is added. If the oil reaches to the middle of the flast section or above, then the engine oil level is correct.
