The trick to this is to first back the bike onto a 2x4. don't forget to put one under the stand as well. Then, locate the battery which is encased in a black metal box with a hatch on the bottom. Next, unhook the positive power cable (red) and move it away so it does not make contact with the battery, next unconnected the negative on the other side. Then using a 10mm socket unbolt the bolts that are on the bottom front of the case (while facing the side of the bike). slowly tape the front lip of the hatch and the battery should fall out. Then to install the new one. Just do the reverse of this. Making sure that you connect the red terminal first and the black ground wire last.

NO!

FIRST remove the NEGATIVE cable from the battery and then the positive.

On any vehicle, always remove the grounded cable first, and that happens to be the negative on most vehicles. The reason is simple: if you happen to touch ground while removing the grounded cable, nothing happens. If you touch ground and the "hot" cable at the same time while the ground cable is still hooked up, you create a short circuit that can fry the battery, the electrics, or the vehicle.

On the S50, the positive "hot" cable is surrounded by a metal box that's hard to avoid with a socket or screwdriver. It's easy to short out. It could even make contact just by having the battery move around while riding, which is why there is a protective cover there.

How do you remove battery Suzuki S50?

To remove the battery from a Suzuki S50, first, ensure the motorcycle is turned off and parked on a stable surface. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal first to prevent any short circuits, followed by the positive (+) terminal. Once both terminals are disconnected, remove any retaining straps or brackets holding the battery in place, and gently lift the battery out of the compartment. Be cautious of any acid leakage and handle the battery with care.

What is foot pounds of torque for 2006 suzuki s83 1400?

I previously owned a 2007 suzuki s50 which is very similar but with an 800cc engine instead of the 1400cc. I've heard the estimates for the s50 to be very close to 50 hp and a similar amount of lb-ft torque. I've riden the s83 and it is more powerful but maybe not as much as you'd guess. For its class the s50 definitely shines (a good friend of mine had a shadow 750cc and he was constantly eating my dust... it wasn't even fair...)If I could give you an educated guess I would have to say the s83 probably makes around 75 lb-ft of torque at its peak and around 85 hp. But that's just a guess.

Where is the toolkit on a 2008 suzuki s50?

I have a 2007 and it did'nt come with one. The shiny plastic chrome "air cleaner" on the right side of the engine centered in the Vee is it. Remove one screw on the left lower side (when facing it) and the cover lifts off.
