Appears the saga continues. I went this morning to get the registration performed for my 2003 Arctic Cat ATV at the local Alabama tag and title office. They denied it. I was told that it could not be registered. As I probed, with extreme disdain from the clerk, it appeared that she was unaware of who regulates this. After coming home and looking at further research I determined that the AL Department of Revenue is the actual decision point. It also appears that I have to have a "designated agent" inspect my ATV and give me a written verification that it is road worthy. I am now trying to find out if a state trooper is a designated agent. My hope is that I will then be able to have them inspect it and get the necessary paperwork to force the probates hand.

Same laws that apply to motorcycles apply to ATV's in Idaho. That means you have to title and register it at the county assessor's office. In Idaho all you need to make a motorcycle street legal is a headlight a taillight, a horn, and mirrors.
