The easiest way is to leave the hose connected after you have it off the bike and pump it out with the peddle.
Jack up and block the car remove wheel pry back the caliper pistons with out breaking the pistons then remove caliper and pads.Reverse to install and pump brake pedal until it gets hard.
Remove the wheel from the car. With a big screw driver pry on the caliper placing the screw driver between the caliper pistons. This will collapse the pistons allowing you to remove the caliper.Remove the caliper pin retaining spring.Remove the caliper pins.Next remove the brake pad retaining clips, found in the middle of the caliper.Remove the brake pads.Remove the two bolts holding the brake caliper in place. Now you're able to remove the brake rotor. An instructional video has also been included below.
I just did mine. Use a screw driver to press the brake pads away from the rotor and compress the caliper pistons back some so you can remove the caliper off of hte rotor. Losen and remove the bolts to the brake caliper. DO NOT DISCONNECT the brake line from the caliper! Get you a c-clamp and a piece of 1/4 board about 4 inches long. Once you have removed the caliper from the mount and removed the brake pads support the caliper with one hand. Place the wood over the caliper pistons and using the c-clamp place it over the wood and center of both pistons and other side of caliper to compress the pistons back into the caliper. Make sure you DO NOT PINCH the rubber boots on the pistons. Once you have compressed the pistons back into the calipers install your new pads and calipers back on the mounting surface and tighten the bolts back to torque specs.
it should just lift off.. if not loosen the pressure on the caliper by inserting a screwdriver twen the pad and the caliper wall.. and prise the caliper open. when you have the caliper off.. use a C clamp and a slip off wood or whatever to press the caliper pistons back into the housing.. this will allow room for the new pads and any adjustments.. reseat the caliper and tighten the bolts.. when you press the brake pedal the caliper pistons will reseat themselves and you know this has happened as the pedal will go firm
1. jack car and remove wheel 2. remove the brake caliper and pads by removing the two bolts holding on the caliper 3. remove the mounting bracket for the brake caliper by removing the two bolts attaching it to the spindle. 4. pull the rotor off
To remove the brake calipers on a Suzuki Esteem, first, ensure the vehicle is securely lifted and supported. Remove the wheel to access the caliper, then take off the caliper mounting bolts using a socket wrench. Once the bolts are removed, gently slide the caliper off the brake rotor, being careful not to damage the brake line. Finally, support the caliper with a bungee cord or similar device to avoid putting stress on the brake line.
To compress the pistons on a Volvo rear disc brake, first, remove the wheel and access the brake caliper. Use a specialized brake caliper tool or a C-clamp to gently push the piston back into the caliper housing. If the caliper has an integrated parking brake, you may need to rotate the piston while pushing it in, so ensure to follow the specific procedure for your Volvo model. Once compressed, you can reinstall the caliper and wheel.
The Rear Caliper Bottom Bolt head size is 12 mm. The Top bolt is enclosed only making it a slide bolt therefore you cant and really have no need to remove it. So the only bolt you should remove is the bottom 12mm head bolt. Then there will be a 14mm bolt that will hold the Emergency Brake Cable Bracket to the Caliper. Loosen this bolt and remove the Emergency Brake Cable Bracket from the Caliper. Then pry the bottom of the caliper up off the disc. This will allow you to swing the caliper up then push the caliper back to slide the caliper off the enclosed bolt slide at the top of the caliper. This will allow access to the inside and outside pads to remove them and allow you to press and rotate the Piston (Push and Twist-in Pistons) back into the Caliper with the right Brake Caliper Compression tool. The rear two Caliper Bracket bolt head sizes are 18mm. You must remove the Caliper bracket in order to remove the rear brake disc. The Front Brake Caliper Bolt is a 3/8" Allen head bolt. There will be two bolts holding the front calipers to the Spindle. The Front calipers are standard push-in Pistons.
Remove wheels Re-install 2 lug nuts to hold rotor in place Remove 2 caliper mounting bolts Slide caliper off rotor A special tool (not expensive) may be required to retract pistons in to caliper body available at Sears or auto parts These piston may be threaded to accomodate parking brake
You need to remove the wheel, the caliper and the caliper mount. After you do that you can remove the caliper.
I your doing the drivers side turn the steering wheel left hand down to help access to the brakes, jack up the vehicle and take off the wheel. On the inside of the brake caliper youll see 2 circular covers top and bottom, remove the bottom cover using a small screw driver and youll find a torx bolt, undo this bolt and pull the caliper open, the pads are now in the open, prise these out and replace with new ones, before you replace the caliper the pistons need to be pushed back into place, remove the brake fluid cap and push the caliper pistons back into the caliper, you can buy a tool for this but can be done without if your wound up enough. Once the caliper pistons are back into the caliper replace the caliper and replace the torx bolt, replace the brake fluid cap, replace the wheel. DONT FORGET THE PISTONS ARE PUSHED BACK INTO THERE SLEEVES, BEFORE DRIVING ALWAYS PUMP THE BRAKE PEDAL TILL ITS BACK TO NORMAL sound obvious but unless you do this you wont have any brakes
Remove wheels Loosen 2 caliper mounting bolts and remove Remove Rotor (if peel off type) Resecure caliper Remove brake pads Need to get special tool to retract piston into caliper Do not retract using "C" clamp these pistons have to screw back into calpier (Clockwise) After piston retracted totally install new brake pads and reverse procedure to install DO NOT MOVE VEHICLE UNTIL BRAKE IS PUMPED TO RESET PADS TO CALIPER
