reach under the seat on the left rear side, you'll feel a little handle. Push the handle up, that releases the seat, lift the back and then slide towards the back. There is 2 plastic pronges that fit under the gastank mount up front that need to be slid in again first when you re-attach the seat. the battery is held down by a metal bar, I think there is 2 bolts you have to take out for the hold down bar. Just reverse for re -installation.
