The first part of the answer is safely. Place the saw on a stable surface, squeeze the interlock/trigger in, move control bar (left of the handle) all the way down, brace your left arm/hand against the upper handle, right toe/foot it the back handle, grasp the grip and ease out until you a sharp resistance and then tug sharply. On a cold engine it may take a few pulls. The engine will "flutter" and then move the control bar up one notch. Repeat until engine fires and revs and squeeze trigger to bring it back to the idle position

Whats the difference between a stihl 026 and a stihl ms 260?

only how the model number reads. In 2001 Stihl changed how there model numbers read. Previous to 2001 for example their models were such as: 026,044,046,064,066. Once they changed the model#'s they changed them to: MS260, MS440, MS460 etc.... Saws are still the same MS means: "Motor schlagen" or in German "Chainsaw" There IS A DIFFERENCE! the newer models that use the reversed numbers of the old Models (026 = 260 for examples) have the EPA carburators. This makes for a slightly less powerful/efficient saw.

What is the difference between a stihl ms260pro and a stihl ms 261pro?

The Stihl Ms261 is the replacement of the Stihl Ms260. The 260 has been on the market for many years and became outdated. Most important differences are the new designed so-called "2-mix" engine that is more fuel-efficient and evironmental friendly, and the better AV system on the 261. The new 261 is a bit more powerfull but due to the new av-system in which the engine is isolated from the handles also a bit heavier.
