Intake- piston rising, creates vacuum pulls fuel/air in from opening intake valve. As piston peaks, intake closes. Momentum forces piston back down, compressing the air/gas, making it quite volitile. This is the Compression stroke. At bottom, spark plug fires a spark that ignites fuel. Explosion forces piston back up. This is the Ignition stroke. As the piston reaches the top of this stroke and starts back down, exhaust valve opens, venting all burnt gasses-Exhaust stroke. Piston starts back up and intake stroke begins again. Piston operates on u-shaped portion of the camshaft, which has large gear on one end. That gear meshes with a smaller gear that operates a smaller cam. Smaller cam has lobes on it that open and shut the intake and exhaust valves. Of course if the gears are in the wrong spot, timing is off. There will be marks on both gears that indicate which teeth should mesh.

How four-stroke engines work?

four strok engines are like a scale down version of a car engine. They work the same way. unlike 2 stroke which can work any way E.G: upside down etc. 4 stroke engines need to positioned the right way so they can have a constant flow of oil. does this help?

If a neighbor pushes a lawnmower four times as far as you do but exerts only half the force which one of you does more work and how much?

The neighbor does more work because work is calculated by force multiplied by distance. Since the neighbor pushes the lawnmower four times farther, even though with half the force, their total work done is double compared to you.

Does the four-stroke engine produces 1 power stroke for every 720 degrees of crankshaft rotation?

Yes, if by "720 degrees of crankshaft rotation" you mean "two rotations" Here is a great animation of a four-stroke at work: http://www.animatedengines.com/otto.shtml

Describe each part of a four stroke engine in your own words. What each part does?

The various parts of a stroke engine basically work in unison in converting the thermal energy to mechanical energy.

Can I use a nb41 battery on a lawnmower?

It is unlikely that the NB4L battery will work for your lawnmower but it really depends on your mower. Most of these batteries are used for small electronics like cell phones.
