Replacing the belt is quite easy...

Step 1 - Remove the bolts holding on the outside clutch housing (I believe there are 13 in all on a 600) and remove the cover.

Step 2 - You will see two large pulleys. These are the Primary (the one on the right with all the stuff inside it) and the Secondary sheave sets (each sheave is 1/2 of a pulley). On the Secondary, you will find two 6mm bolt holes near the center and on either side of the center. Take two of the longer bolts that you removed to take of the case cover and thread them in hand tight into these holes. Now, take a wrench or socket and tighten them down a few turns at a time, alternating back and forth between them. This will spread the sheaves apart and make the belt loose.

Step 3 - Remove the belt. Inspect the faces of the sheaves to see if they are shinny and smooth. If they are, it's probably a good time to hit them with a Scotch Brite to remove the gloss.

Step 4 - Install new belt. If there is a direction indicator on the new belt, be sure to put it on so that arrow point toward the front of the Grizz when it is on top. Remove the screws from the secondary sheave, again, alternating a few turns on each, until they are removed. You might also want to turn the sheaves by hand when they start getting cloaser to make sure the belt does not bind up in them. Re-install the cover and take her for a test spin.

Why did your belt pop on a grizzly 600?

A belt on a Grizzly 600 may pop due to several reasons, such as excessive tension, wear and tear, or misalignment of the components. If the belt is old or damaged, it may not withstand the stress during operation, leading to failure. Additionally, if the engine or transmission is not functioning properly, it can cause undue strain on the belt, resulting in it popping. Regular maintenance and timely replacement of worn parts can help prevent this issue.
