First, remove saddlebags. Then pull pin out of axle. before loosening axle nut, if the axle adjuster cams are not marked for position, mark at a spot on the front where there is a corresponding spot on the frame so that upon reassembly, the cams are in the exact same location. The reason for that is belt adjustment and it is absolutely necessary. After that, loosen the axle nut. Then loosen the two bolts that hold the muffler up on the opposite side from the nut as you are going to drive the axle out that way and you don't want to scratch or damage the muffler. At this point an adjusable scissor jack makes the work easier. You may need to remove the bottom bolts from the shock absorbers to allow the wheel down enough for the axle to clear. Once the axle is out, you may push the wheel up and forward enough to pull the belt off the pulley. It may be easier, if this is your first time, to pull the two bolts that hold the caliper on the disc and remove it. At that point, you have to lift the motorcycle enough to remove the wheel. Reassembly is reverse. Keep track of which sides the spacers come from. Good luck.

The maintenance schedule for a 2008 Harley Ultra Classic typically includes oil changes every 5,000 miles, with the first service at 1,000 miles. Inspect and replace the air filter as needed, check the brake fluid and coolant levels regularly, and ensure tire pressure and tread are in good condition. Spark plugs should be replaced every 10,000 to 15,000 miles, while the primary chaincase oil should be changed every 20,000 miles. Always refer to the owner's manual for specific guidelines and recommended maintenance intervals.
