The magneto AKA flywheel has a groove in it what should match up with the groove in the crank. you need to purchase a woodruff key to hold these pieces inline with each other. The groves are designed to pass the electrical pickup right after top dead center. Once the woodruff key and flywheel are replaced use the blue locktite and apply it around the threads of the receiving nut. tighten it down with a impact drill or place a small screwdriver in the hole of the flywheel to prevent it from moving and tighten it up.. Hope this helps

How does a magneto charge a battery?

The Magneto is putting out an AC current which will have to be rectified into DC in order to charge the battery. The voltage rectifier is installed between the magneto and the battery, but the current then may also need a regulator installed so that the battery being charged does not explode.

Craftsman 4.5 no spark?

You probably need a new coil/magneto. Follow the plug wire to it. If it's a magneto you can try a little sand paper to clean off the flywheel magnet and the magneto points of contact. They aren't touching the magneto so you can get some paper in there. If it's a coil, you will need a new one.

How do you remove the ac clutch from the compressor on a 93 Nissan 300zx?

The AC Compressor Clutch, more commonly known as a "Magneto Clutch", requires a special tool Usually the clutch itself is almost as expensive as the entire compressor, you'd probably be better off buying a new remanufactured one. But if you have your heart set on doing it yourself, find a Snap-On truck, and tell them you need a Magneto Clutch removal tool, it'll cost you about $150 for the tool (if I remember correctly when I bought mine a few years back). You're probably looking at another $200 for the magneto clutch. ANd the compressor probably costs about $250. The magneto clutch tool is self explanitory.
