the only structural chassis steel that i would suggest is 1020 D.O.M (or drawn over mandrel) with a min. of 1/8" wall, D.O.M. is a special technique that renders it seamless and stable. if it is compleatly impossible to find the rite stuff i would recommend not proceding all. but 4 being the massocist for pain and bodily injury, i would say atleast find a good seamless pipe and TURTURE TEST it, tie it into a pretzille with a 20lb sledge then hammer it flat, then untie it and hammer it round again. then if it has no signs of stress cracks' or fractures, would i think about using that type. with that i would then cross my fingers @ any speed over 30m.p.h., but I'm just a dirty old biker with no education that used the right steel for every chop I've ever done

What is meant by Grade 317 MPa pipe?

Grade 317 MPa pipe refers to a type of stainless steel pipe made from grade 317 material, which is known for its high corrosion resistance and strength. The "MPa" indicates the tensile strength of the material, specifically 317 megapascals, which is a measure of the pipe's ability to withstand stress without failure. This grade is commonly used in environments that require durability and resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, such as chemical processing and marine applications.
