i have an 84 suzuki lt 185 quad, it is 4 stroke. so, "no" to your answer one way to see if something is 4 stroke is look on the engine, if it has ridges it is four stroke these are vents 2 strokes dont need them because they are often liquid cooled. another way to find out is a 2 stroke will have a big head pipe for that added "kick" a two stroke has over a 4 stroke. a two stroke often has a higher pitch (more annoying) noise, where a 4 stroke often has more of a low pitch dull sound to it (its alot more quiet).
