I recently replaced my springs. There is a shorter one that's closer to the engine and a longer one that goes at a diagonal. The problem I'm having is that they seem to stretch out quickly so they don't really work efficiently. I'm looking for the owner's manual PDF (again) online and I'll post it here when I find it.

Could be that the fuel filter is clogged and not allowing sufficient fuel to pass to the carburetor; you might also check the carburetor adjustment needle(s) to see if they may have rattled toward the closed postion.

It depends on if you bought a pull start mower or a power mower. The pull start mower will have a handle you have to pull hard to start it. The power mower should have a button that simply turns it on. Make sure there is gas in the pull start mower.

The "84 models were 1200"s. The 1100's stopped in '83. On the'83, the choke is on the left side, should be a pull up small round button. On the '84, choke is on left side beside the flasher.
