because ....well i got nothing
I would check your float it might be sticking, fuel filter might be plugged. That depends on what type of lawnmower you are working on but it sound like a fuel problem to me .
i guess because it won/t start again
It is difficult to start and emits a smelly white smoke once running.
The battery is kept charged by a generator or magneto when the engine is running. It is located under the flywheel.
The engine floods and you have to wait for the lawnmower to drain before you start it up again or it might start smoking.
As long as the battery in the lawnmower is a 12 Volt battery you will be fine.
There are a couple of reasons why a lawnmower will not stay running or not getting fuel. The carburetor may be clogged up or the lawnmower gas may have water in it.

plug it in and push the on button
You use a lawnmower to cut your grass and to keep it neat and tidy. You can use a lawnmower to collect fallen leaves in Autumn,
Dirty carburetor.
You don't need a lawnmower. There is no law that requires you to need a lawnmower, but, if you have a lawn and want to keep it tidy you would be advised to use a lawnmower as a scythe requires much skill and a lot of energy.
Im guessing this is a petrol lawnmower. sounds like the float is not set at the correct level in the carburetor
