The Polaris Sportsman 500 typically requires a high-quality engine oil with a viscosity grade of 5W-50 or 0W-40, depending on the operating conditions. It's important to use oil that meets the API (American Petroleum Institute) certification for better performance and protection. Always refer to the owner's manual for specific recommendations based on the model year and operating conditions.
