As your engine system is a "total loss" lubrication system, where oil is either added direct to the fuel in the tank or introduced via a valve to the inlet side of the carbs from a separate oil tank. In a two stroke engine the crank case of the engine is used as a transfer chamber to introduce fuel/air/oil mix into the cylinders and it cannot hold upper cylinder lubricant. Thus the engine depends upon (2 stroke) oil dissolved in or delivered with the fuel air mix for both upper cylinder lubrication and cooling. Without the oil, the engine will rapidly overheat and the piston rings will expand into the cylinder wall and "seize" the engine, causing scoring to the bores. There is also the risk of further damage to the bottom end (main bearings) where they interface with the crankshaft. All in all - not a good idea to run a two stroke without the recommended oil in either the premix pump or added to the fuel.
If it is a 2 cycle engine, no, you must use 2 cycle oil. If it is a 4 cycle then use exactly what the manufacture recommends.
2 cycle motor oil
no no no only use 2 cycle oil
I wouldn't recomend it.
No - 2 cycle oil is the only oil you should use in a 2 cycle motor. Because 2 cycle oil is designed to mix with the gas and lube the motor. Your "truck oil" is not the 4 cycle oil will not mix it is designed to just lube in the crank case.
If its got a oil plug its a 4 cycle, 5w-30 motor oil
If it is a 2 cycle where you mix the oil with the gasoline then use 2 cycle marine oil. If it is a 4 cycle then use the weight recommended by Evinrude.
2-cycle oil in most cases can be used as long as it is used in a 2-cycle motor. The answer to your question is NO, you cannot use 2 cycle oil in any engine. Only use 2 cycle oil, in a 2 cycle engine.
You can not use 4-cycle oil in a 2-cycle engine because the four cycle oil will not mix it is not designed to.Two cycle oil is designed to mix with fule to lube the two cycle parts in your motor.
No one is not a viable substitute for the other.
If it is a 4-cycle engine you definitely need motor oil. If its a 2-cycle engine then the oil is mixed with the gas. If its a reel mower then no oil is needed except for external lubrication. Depending on the engine manufacturer the 4-cycle engines will require either SAE30 or 10w30 motor oil.
No, you must use 2 cycle oil for the mix with gasoline.
