it depends on the; person, bike year and his/her experience on riding a motorbike.
if he has had some experience the YZ125 would be better as it would be more reliable and he/she would get a longer life out of it.
however, if it is his/her first time riding i suggest the KLX140 as it has less horsepower and more likely will learn a lot slower but will enjoy it

The klx 125 i hate to say this being a yamaha fan but the ttr 125 is underpowerd breaks alot.
