CE armor is a type of padding required by European specifications. It is usually found in the knees, elbows, shoulders and sometimes the spine area of motorcycle jackets. It is designed to crush on impact and to provide padding in the same way that a helmet protects the head.
It is required of EU motorcycle riders.
CE armor is not a type of armor. For a jacket with armor fitted in it to get CE approval it must pass certain tests in regards to the amount of force dispersed by the foam. If it passes these tests the manufacturer can say that it is CE armor which is generally better than armor without CE approval. Most armors use foam to absorb impacts and reduce the force getting through to the wearer. There are 3 main types, Foam armour like what you would find in a mattress, Memory foam armor which is denser and can absorb more force and a hard brittle plastic whit a foam backing. The CE standards system has hundreds of different standards for items from a walkman right up to medical devices. It only applies in Europe but is so widely recognized that it is used almost everywhere.
The reason for quality jackets are to protect plus ... make you look good. This means that it will let you ride in comfort and protect you feel like a knight.
I don't recognise this, but if ce is actually CE then it means that the armour meets standards set by the European Community.
it can be.....keep in mind, ce is a standard with points to be met......so there are armours out there that dont bare the ce mark that can perform better.......there are pads out there that exceed the standard for impact but fail for shape.....so its in the air, do your research and you'll be fine
