10/40 Motorcycle/ATV Oil. Around 3.3 Quarts with filter change.
In cold months use 10W30. In hot weather use 20/50.
15w/30 but that is hard to find so I use15w/40
Use any JASO-MA or MA2 or SAE SF-SG oil of W 15-40 for this bike.
20W40 or 10 W40 motor oil will do. Some use Yamalube, I just use Wal-mart stuff. The engine is almost indestructible.

When changing the oil in a Yamaha Virago 250, it depends on the engine size as to how much oil to put in. If it is a 1.4L only 0.36 gallons of oil are needed. However, if it is a 2L then 0.52 gallons are necessary. Do not overflow the reservoir.
XV1000 Capacity is 3 Litres I use 20W50
For a Yamaha Virago 535 front fork system, it’s generally recommended to use 10W fork oil. However, you should always check the owner's manual or service manual for specific recommendations, as oil viscosity can depend on your riding style, weight, and local conditions. Additionally, consider using a high-quality synthetic fork oil for better performance and longevity.
