For a 2000 Kawasaki Prairie 400, it is recommended to use 10W-40 oil, which is suitable for both hot and cold temperatures. You can use either conventional or synthetic oil, but make sure it meets the API (American Petroleum Institute) service classification of SG or higher. Always check the owner's manual for specific recommendations and capacity for optimal performance.

We have this exact machine and I use Honda's 50/50 coolant. The only reason I do this is because all my other ATVs and motorcycles are Honda. It is okay to use regular, old-fashioned, automotive anti-freeze; I have done this in the past. If it is full concentrate, it can be diluted by 50% with water.
