On my 2007 vstar 1100 custom the recommended is 20/50 or 10/40. unless the weather is really hot, the service tech recommends 10/40. make sure it is for motorcycles with a wet clutch.
how do you check oil on Yamaha v star classic 1100
what is the proper amount of oil for a 1100v-star
use the Honda brand its by far the best and is specially formulated for Honda motorcycles.:)
Yes, you should be able to see oil in the fill hole of a V-Star 1100, as it indicates that the oil level is sufficient. However, the oil should not be overflowing, as this could indicate overfilling. It's important to regularly check the oil level and ensure it is within the recommended range to maintain optimal engine performance. Always consult the owner's manual for specific guidelines regarding oil maintenance.
About 3.5 to 3.7 quarts.
You need to drop the exhaust to reach the oil filter
yes, synthetic can go in anything I run REPSOL 20w-50 in my 2005 Vstar 1100
The proper oil level in a 2002 Yamaha s-star 1100 classic would be the level where on the stick it meets the right mark so that you dont under or over fill the tank.
No. You need a good 4-stroke oil. Your car oil would protect the engine, but it does not have the ingredients nessecary to protect the clutch and transmission.
i asked yesterday at the dealer, it holds 3.3 quarts.
