The manufacturer recommends, .038-.043........However when I recently purchased the HD Screamin' Eagle plugs, the guy at the service counter told me "follow the gap instructions on the box for this # plug" It happened to be .035. I can tell you from my experience DO NOT gap at .035.............My bike seems to be getting more fuel so therefore, Im setting mine at .043 that way I can get as much of the fuel to combust and burn instead of having a pop come out my carb (from unburnt fuel) already have my air/fuel mixture screw down to 1 turn out...........
