I have always used a sae 30 weight. Not 10w, just straight 30. The mower is almost always run in harsh conditions and the heavier oil will hold up to the heat much better. I always change it at the end of the season before storing and I never store with an empty fuel tank. I always fill and add stabil or seafoam. Never had a problem.
10 w 30 or straight 30w
Almost all lawn mowers require SAE 30 oil.
Most all riding mowers use SAE 30 oil.
Lawn tractors have oil filters.push mowers don't. Change oil more frequanetly in a push mower engine.hope this helped. S.g.
Most standard lawn mowers do not have oil filters, especially smaller, push-type models. Instead, they typically rely on a simple oil change to maintain engine performance. However, some larger or more advanced lawn mowers, particularly those with more powerful engines, may be equipped with oil filters to help keep the oil clean and extend engine life. Always consult the owner's manual for specific maintenance requirements for your mower.
Lawn mowers can take 2 stroke or 4 stroke oil depending on the type of engine. If unsure contact your lawn mower provider.
