According to the parts man at Yamaha who I talked with today, the number is on the frame on the left side by the footpegs. This was for a Warrior 350, but may work for your model too. For my Yamaha Moto-4 350 - the VIN is located on the frame, adjacent to the (rear side) of the left front tire.
On a 1987 Yamaha Moto 4, the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is typically located on the frame, often found on the right side near the rear of the vehicle or on the steering neck. It may also be stamped on a metal plate attached to the frame. Always refer to the owner's manual for specific location details, as it can vary slightly between models.
It should be right in front of the shift lever on the lower frame.
The VIN or vehicle identification number is located in the frame area of the Yamaha Scooter. The VIN is used to identify the motorcycle.
The VIN is located on the bar in between the front 2 wheels of the Yamaha Grizzly 660. The VIN will be displayed on a green sticker.
