where is the fan fuze located on my 500 Polaris sportsman
Need the fuse location on a 2003 Polaris Sportsman 400.
Firstly it's a polaris. Temp sensor, fan relay, fan motor, air in cooling system, thermostat, water pump, control box. Take your pick they all fail or cause overheating problems. Very annoying.
The fan fuse for a Polaris Sportsman 500 is typically located in the fuse box, which is usually found under the front storage compartment or near the battery. To access it, you may need to remove the cover of the fuse box. Check the owner's manual for the exact location and identification of the fan fuse, as it can vary by model year. Always ensure the vehicle is turned off before inspecting or replacing fuses.
The cooling fan relay switch on a Polaris 500 HO Touring is typically located under the front hood, near the main wiring harness. It's usually mounted on or near the fan assembly or the engine compartment. To access it, you may need to remove some panels or components for easier visibility and reach. Always consult the specific service manual for your model for precise location and instructions.
as long as it is the same as a 98 it is a fuze not a relay
you'll find it just underneath the glove box :)
The cooling fan relay on a 2008 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO is typically located in the electrical compartment under the front hood, near the battery. You may find it mounted on or near the fuse box. For precise identification, consult the owner’s manual or a service manual for the specific wiring diagram and component layout.
The only real difference is that the Classic has more standard options like reverse, electric start, and hand heaters. Both have the same liquid cooled 500cc engine. Only the Indy Trail has a fan cooled 500cc.
Is the temp. light coming on? Check your coolant level in the overflow reservoir If the level is to low it could cause the fan to run more than normal. I have a 2002 Sportsman 500 and my light was coming on and the fan was running more than normal. I had a pin hole leak in the tubing between the radiator and the overflow reservoir This was causing it to leak antifreeze and allowing it to suck air into the cooling system. Which was causing my fan to run and my temp light to come on.
Yes. Check the underdash fuze panel under the panel on the left hand side of the dash.
In my predator, theres a little black pouch above the radiator with a circuit breaker inside. My fan wouldn't go on so I tested the fan and it worked fine. I cut upon the "waterproof" bag and it was soaked inside and the circuit was rusted all the way through. It's a common problem; cheap fix. Give it a try!
The Polaris 500 may be overheating due to several factors, including low coolant levels, a malfunctioning thermostat, or a clogged radiator. Additionally, a failing water pump or issues with the cooling fan can impede proper cooling. It's also important to check for any air leaks in the cooling system and ensure the engine oil is at the correct level, as inadequate lubrication can lead to overheating. Regular maintenance and inspections can help prevent these issues.
