The neutral safety switch on this bike is behind the oil filter's aluminum housing. Don't try to bypass the switch as this will make the bike very dangerous in starting.

On a Honda Gold Wing, neutral is typically located between first and second gear. To shift into neutral, you can use the foot shifter while the bike is at a complete stop, pressing down from first gear or lifting slightly from second gear. Some models also have a neutral indicator light on the dashboard to confirm when the bike is in neutral. Always ensure the bike is stationary before attempting to shift into neutral for safety.
To determine if the start switch on a 1500 Gold Wing is bad, first check for power at the switch using a multimeter. If there's no continuity when pressing the switch, it may be faulty. Additionally, inspect the wiring for damage or corrosion. If the switch appears functional but the bike still won’t start, the issue may lie elsewhere in the starting circuit.

No. But check it out.
It takes 3.9L or just under 4 ots.
In a word, NO. I have a 1982 Goldwing Aspencade and no reverse. No reverse until the 1500's came out in 1988.
The 1982 Honda horn relay switch is located behind the instrument panel. The corn relay switch cannot be seen without removing the instrument panel.
