The KX500 is hands down faster but that doesnt necisarily mean easier to ride or handle. The kx500 beats a 450 by a good bit of power but is extremely hard to handle.
The KX500 is significantly faster than the KX65 due to its larger engine displacement and power output. The KX500 is a high-performance motocross bike with a powerful 500cc two-stroke engine, while the KX65 is designed for younger or less experienced riders with a smaller 65cc engine. This difference in engine size and power translates to much higher top speeds and acceleration for the KX500.
Kawasaki is a popular brand of motorcycle and the KX500 model is readily available. Besides authorized Kawasaki dealers, try eBay Motors, Auto Trader and Bikefinds.

No, sorry - won't work. Kawasaki stopped casting power valves on the 86 and 89 KX125 years ago. They are obsolete aka no longer available.I checked with a local gear manufacturing facility who said they could reproduce the same power valve, but the price was insane - $1200 for one.You can verify fitmet by checking Partzilla's model reference tool. I'm including a third link for some footpegs which appear on multiple models so you can see how it works.1986 KX125-E1 KX125 FOOTRESTS1986 KX250-D2 KX250 FOOTRESTS1986 KX500-B2 KX500 FOOTRESTS1987 KX125-E2 KX125 FOOTRESTS1987 KX250-E1 KX250 FOOTRESTS1987 KX500-C1 KX500 FOOTRESTS1986 KDX200-C1 KDX200 FOOTRESTS1986 KX125-E1 KX125 FOOTRESTS1986 KX250-D2 KX250 FOOTRESTS1986 KX500-B2 KX500 FOOTRESTS1987 KDX200-C2 KDX200 FOOTRESTS1987 KX125-E2 KX125 FOOTRESTS1987 KX250-E1 KX250 FOOTRESTS1987 KX500-C1 KX500 FOOTRESTS

yes you can, kx500s were the same from 88-04 and in 89 the kx250 and kx500 were the same ecept for the motor, you can basically upgrade your 89 kx250 to an 04 kx500, including the newer forks, tank(which is bigger), swing arm, fenders, seat, etc
