IVE HAD MY 2006 FZ6 UP TO 155 BUT IT TAKES A MIN TO GET THERE
The Yamaha FZ model is popular for its versatility. Because of its design, it is equally well suited for commuting, touring, or sport riding. The FZ6 was introduced in 2004.
90hp to the wheel @ sealevel
Mine was 145 MPH at 12,500 rpm
The FZ6 Fazer is a 600cc motorcycle built by Yamaha. This bike was first introduced in 2004 and was built through the 2009 model year. In 2010 it was replaced by the FZ6R.
Your VIN is to a 2005 600cc, FZ6- Super Sport, Street Motorcycle.
There are 2 versions available. The 'standard' model for most of the world is 98HP whereas in Europe a 78HP version is available for various legal reasons.
That really depends on Year that you want. I have seen them go for around $6000 new 2009 could be less depending on if you shop around, any rebates, and haggling.
Yes, there are many great bikes out there that get over looked because of the over popular models like a CBR. Look for a bandit S, FZ1, Fazzer, FZ6.
No! Horrible horrible! The static position of highway miles is killer on your body because of the posture of supersport motorcycles. I know first hand from my 2007 R6, and all my buddies agree because we've all felt the pain. Stay away from any supersport if you are going to be doing lots of slabbing! Main two reasons: 1) Body will hate you. No amount of shifting around, standing up, leaning, no-handing, etc. will save you 2) Gas! Supersports will only net you, at best, ~35mpg! Getting a Yamaha FZ6 instead would net you at least ~45mpg and MUCH better body posture.
Like with any motorcycle, go to dealers and sit on lots of them until you find one that fits. Most of the "Adventure" bikes have taller seat heights due to suspension travel so you need to find out what fits you. I like the Suzuki VStrom myself, but BMW has a couple of great larger bikes as well. Answer: Aaah there are so many to choose from, there are a plethora od Beemers second hand and new alike ...F650/Funduro, F800, R1200GS, Honda Transalp, Yamaha Tenere, KTM Adventure 990 , The evergreen..Honda Africa Twin(personal favourite), Yamaha Fazer FZ6, Honda XR650L,.....All of these bikes are big serious looking bikes including the V-strom, and would compliment you nicely.
For a first time bike owner i started out on a 600cc, Yamaha FZ6. I looked around and everyone i talked to always stated, never go bigger than 600cc for a first time bike. Reason is you have enough power to save yourself in a pinch, but not enough to torque it up into a wheelie as you adjust to learning the clutch and throttle. In my experience, the dealer has always asked if i have riden before and if the answer is no, they have always said they would not sell me a bike with more than 600cc. If the dealer will sell you a bigger bike than that, he doesn't care about you or how long you keep your organs in your body. He just cares about the sale and his commission. I hope that this answers your question. Sorry for the length.
