There was a guy who invented a .... thing shall I say for this exact example. He designed a ...THING ... that controlled this combustion at the end of a lawn mower cycle and manipulated it to work in a car. The car got 145 miles to the gallon, yes thats right, 145 MILES to the GALLON, he patented it and sold around 26 before a certain oil company got wind of this guys patent. This oil company then went and bought this patent and then tried to get back the 26 units already sold. Some people said no, a class action was made and to my disbelief the people got to keep the units. But yes, the particular design has never been seen again. Go figure.

How to slow the idle speed down on a 1990 cub cadet mower?

To slow the idle speed on a 1990 Cub Cadet mower, locate the carburetor and find the idle speed adjustment screw, typically marked with a "+" or "–" symbol. Turning the screw counterclockwise usually lowers the idle speed. Make small adjustments, then start the engine to check the effect before making further changes. Always refer to the owner's manual for specific guidance related to your mower model.

What cause your riding mower to idle up and down when am mowering?

When mowing it will idle up and down because of the amount and thickness of grass you are cutting. This is because the blades will struggle cutting thick grass so the engine needs more revs to keep the blades running at a constant speed and that is also why your mower may slow down because it has used the majority of revs to cut the grass and their are not many revs left to keep the wheels spinning The up and down revving could also be caused by a dirty/clogged air filter.

Why do your zero turn mower travel so slow?

A zero turn mower may travel slowly for several reasons, including low engine power, a clogged air filter, or issues with the throttle linkage. Additionally, if the mower's blades are engaged, it can also slow down the overall speed. Moreover, the terrain and slope of the lawn can impact speed, as steep or uneven surfaces require more caution and control. Regular maintenance, such as checking the engine and ensuring proper tire pressure, can help improve performance.

What causes a lawn mower engine to constantly rev up and down?

Why does mower motor bog down when blades are engaged?

A mower motor bogs down when the blades are engaged due to increased load on the engine. This extra load can result from dull blades, tall or thick grass, or an obstruction under the deck, making it harder for the motor to maintain speed. Additionally, insufficient power or a weak engine can struggle to handle the demand, leading to a decrease in performance. Proper maintenance, including sharpening blades and ensuring the engine is in good condition, can help mitigate this issue.
