A 2-cycle Columbia cart may backfire due to a few reasons, such as improper fuel mixture, which can lead to incomplete combustion. Additionally, a dirty or faulty spark plug can cause misfiring, resulting in backfiring. Air leaks in the intake system or exhaust can also disrupt the engine's pressure balance and timing, leading to backfire. Regular maintenance and checking these components can help prevent this issue.
The EZ-Go 2 cycle golf cart uses 2 cycle oil. The brand of the oil does not really matter. Two cycle oil can be purchased in half pints, pints, quarts or gallons at most automotive parts stores.
2 cycle oil if you are referring to a 2 cycle engine with oil injection.
I, too, would like to know the answer! I have a 1993 Polaris Trail Boss ATV with the 250 cc engine... it tends to backfire when letting off the throttle.
By oil injected I assume you mean it is a 2 cycle engine. If so you must us 2 cycle oil. I recommend a synthetic oil.
i believe they have an oil injection system on these engines
To add oil to a 2-cycle EZ Go golf cart, locate the oil reservoir, which is typically found near the engine. Use a funnel to pour the appropriate 2-cycle oil into the reservoir until it reaches the recommended level, as indicated by the dipstick or markings on the reservoir. Ensure that you are using the correct type of oil specified in the owner’s manual for optimal performance. After adding oil, securely close the reservoir cap before operating the cart.
The recommended oil fuel mixture for a 1983 EZGO 2-cycle golf cart is typically a 50:1 ratio, which means 2.6 ounces of 2-cycle oil for every gallon of gasoline. It's important to use a high-quality 2-cycle oil specifically designed for air-cooled engines to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Always consult the owner's manual for specific guidelines and any updates.
