battery is weak or the solenoid for the shift is bad
If your 2000 Foreman 450ES won't shift at night, it could be due to a few factors. A common issue is the lack of proper lighting, making it difficult to see the gear indicators. Additionally, the shift mechanism might be affected by cooler temperatures at night, causing stiffness or binding. It's also worth checking the battery and electrical connections, as low power can affect the electronic shifting system.

To put a Honda Foreman 400 in reverse, first ensure the vehicle is at a complete stop. Then, pull the reverse lever, which is typically located on the left side of the handlebars or near the foot brake. While holding the reverse lever, shift the gear into reverse by moving the foot shift lever. Release the brake and gently accelerate to move in reverse.
If a Honda Rancher 350 with electric shift is experiencing problems, it could be due to issues with the electric shift actuator, which may be malfunctioning or have a faulty connection. Additionally, low battery voltage or a weak battery can affect the shifting mechanism. Other potential causes could include damaged wiring or a failing shift sensor. It's advisable to inspect these components to diagnose and resolve the issue.
Key features on the Honda Rancher are selectable 2WD/4WD, programmed fuel injection, and semi-automatic or electric shift. There is no shortage on capabilities.
my Honda accord has auto 4 speed that will not shift
i have a 1998 honda accord the gear shift is locked...
The shifting fork is on the right side of the under the right engine cover . If it is electronic shift , when you push the button it rotates the shifting fork to go into gears . The bottom arm of the shifting fork is bad about breaking . In a pinch I have welded it back on but for the price its better to replace it .
