the main difference in analoge and digital system is analog is continues type of data and ditital is discreate type of data. e.g old galvanometer having needle is analog but new multimeter is digital in which voltage and current is shown in digits... analog is not much accurate..but digital is accurate...

fairly speaking, both analog and digital electronics have their share of advantages and disadvantages and they are used where they are good... all analog systems can be realized(easily or otherwise) in digital domains and hence, they are virtually interchangeable... coming to advantages, a thorough knowledge of analog electronics is required to understand internal working of gates(essential for digital electronics) and for studies of power electronics and physical electronics mainly deal with analog devices. As per the wording of the question, there aren't many advantages of analog electronics "over" digital electronics, except may be the fact that, they require lesser power than their digital counterparts... Digital and analogue electronics are two category that have specific benefits depending on their application. It is difficult to give such a broad answer as the complexity of both categories are far beyond our scope here. The best description i can give is as follows.

Analogue electronics generally excel where natural signals are used. Say for example you wanted to measure radiation or create an amplifier Both deal with waves that analogue electronics have an advantage in.

Digital electronics generally excel in logic bases application's If you wanted to program various reactions to signals, create encryption for communications, or anything involved with computers, digital electronics will have an advantage in.

To make this line even more blurred, you can generally use either for almost any application but it might be ridiculously difficult or inefficient to do so.

The main considerations are as follows.

Digital electronics have to sample analogue waves over and over very fast to get an approximation of what the wave is doing. While this works, you can often loose performance or clarity of the signal. It will look like a bunch of steps instead of a smooth line.

Analogue electronics would have difficulty creating a circuit that you could program to create higher level logic functions. Lets say you wanted a light to blink five times. You want it to blink, wait one second, blink, wait half a second, blink, wait 4 seconds, blink, wait a nanosecond, and finally blink again. Then you want it to do it every hour, but only on Tuesday's

For about $2 in a programmable ic of your flavor, this is relatively easy to do and would take an average programmer 10-15 min to write. That same circuit build with all Analogue components would be monstrous and take a large amount of money and specialized equipment to fine tune the timing and get it to keep time. Temperature humidity, and many other factors would also create large variances at those clock speeds.

I hope this long winded explanation helps. Analog is a very limited in application but easier to apply. It is inherently slow to respond to variable inputs. It has no advantage over digital signal it is just too slow and at low level noise can becomes critical. digital on the other hand is built on a premise of true or false without the ambiguity of analog for low levels. It must noted that all natural phenomena of any interest have characteristics which can be only faithfully measured or recorded only on an analog scale. Therefore incidentally all such measuring & recording devices ( which inherently have to work with very small levels of inputs ) are analog in opertion. These Analog signals are suitably processed to required levels , before any Digitisation can be made. Only after Digitisation can any advantages of Digital operations can be availed of. Also reproduction in many cases has to be in analog form.
