Am I the only one who thinks An American Symphony or at least the segment of it performed in Mr Holland's Opus is just about the most banal and witless piece of musical garbage ever recorded?

I agree. I identified strongly with Glen Holland and was looking forward to at least a taste of a masterpiece at the end. What we got was musical excrement. I agree.
