To gain access to the Gem Rocks, you must have completed the "Shilo Village" quest to access Shilo Village, where the gem rocks can be found and mined.While the gems on these rocks are purple, you cannot obtain Dragonstone gems from them. It is also possible to access Gem Rocks without completing the Shilo Village quest by accessing the Al Kharid mine resource dungeon.However, this does require 75 Dungeoneering to enter.
