Second, there are numerous instances of vote-rigging. For example, in the 2009 election, the official results held that Azeris had voted 70% for Ahmadinejad, which is ridiculous when you realize that their sympathies as a community were for Mousavi both for his politics and because of his Azeri ethnicity. (To put this into context, it would be as ridiculous as a US election result in 2008 that 70% of Blacks voted for McCain instead of Obama.)
