As of my last knowledge update in October 2023, smoking tobacco in public spaces in Amsterdam is generally prohibited, but cannabis can be consumed in designated coffee shops. However, regulations can change, so it's important to check local laws and guidelines before smoking in public areas. Always be mindful of specific rules in different venues or neighborhoods.

One of the most frequently cited broken laws in France is the prohibition against smoking in public places, including restaurants and cafés. Despite regulations, many establishments and patrons often disregard the law, leading to widespread smoking in outdoor areas. Additionally, the enforcement of traffic laws, particularly speeding, is often lax, with many drivers ignoring speed limits. These issues highlight challenges in law enforcement and public compliance.

No, no there isn't and I find this to be a rather stupid measure given that you can smoke in most bars in Belgium. I run through this airport at least once every two weeks and every single time I look for a smoking area, hoping, dreaming that they have come to their senses. They haven't.

Pretty much all of Northern Europe, except for the northern areas of Sweden, Norway, the UK and all of Iceland (ironically) are shut.
